SIMTReC is a private company which coordinates a research Centre located at the University of Manitoba – Fort Garry Campus.

An experienced part-time/casual Office Assistant is required for a 12-month contract position to provide secretarial support to the Administrative Centre, as directed by the Director and the Office Manager.  The position consists of making appointments and travel arrangements, monitoring and responding to e-mails, and preparing correspondence, editing reports, technical papers and presentations with a minimum of guidance and supervision.  The Office Assistant will also provide general support and assistance to other SIMTReC personnel in the conduct of their activities.


The successful candidate will possess at least two years’ experience and a demonstrated working knowledge of functioning in a computerized office environment.  Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access are essential.  A high level of accuracy and effective organizational skills are essential.
